Frazioni of Acri

Frazioni of Acri

Frazioni (singular frazione) are tiny villages or hamlets too small to perform their own government functions. All of their administrative tasks are assigned to a nearby larger town called a comune — in this case, Acri.

The number of frazioni under Acri's jurisdiction has varied over the years (mostly due to administrative changes). At times, there were over one hundred and thirty frazioni with some consisting of just a couple of houses. Now, there are around fifty-five frazioni (more or less) with the smallest having twenty-five people.
