The 1880 Acri death record for Rosa Terranova states her father was Biagio. Rosa's 1835 marriage record states his name was Domenico. Rosa's father was deceased at the time of her 1835 marriage. The informants on her death record were her two sons, Vincenzo and Gennaro. They were born after Domenico died so they never knew him.

There is circumstantial evidence that Rosa's mother, Maria Lucrezia De Marco married Biagio Groccia after the death of her first husband. It is likely that Vincenzo and Gennaro were giving the name of their step-grandfather, not their biological grandfather.^{1243, 2274}
